Health & Safety and
Environmental: To ensure that all planning and purchasing work is carried out to
appropriate standards of health safety and Environmental considerations.
· Production Planning: Development of master production schedule from sales forecasts,
and assist with sales forecasting when necessary. Lend support to production on
materials/material process issues.
· MRP: Implement MRP system and processes on site.
· Vendor Approval: Develop and implement vendor approval system to ensure vendor
performance in areas of cost, quality and availability through appropriate vendor
management tools.
· Vendor Improvement: Identify, qualify and develop new local material suppliers to
increase supply capacity, reduce costs and improve quality.
· Purchasing and Materials Systems: Lead purchasing to ensure high quality cost effective
supplies for production and other plant requirements. Co-ordinate local and worldwide
activities for assigned materials sets.
· Quality Assurance: Work with quality to assure specification of in-coming and out-going
goods using process control methodologies.
· Inventory Analysis: Lead inventory management efforts for raw materials, WIP, finished
goods and consumables, taking full responsibility for maintaining stock accuracy and
identifying slow moving goods/opportunities for sales.
· Materials Budgets: Create and Submit materials budgets, manage within budgets, and seek
cost improvements wherever possible.
· Personnel: Manage all aspects of support personnel.
· Record Keeping: Maintain all records associated with planning and purchasing work.
· Communications: Participate in appropriate meetings; submit appropriate reports to site
management and corporate leaders.
· Any other duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.
The above is indicative and not an exhaustive list. Responsibilities will include
completing any other reasonable task requested that may include tasks outside the normal
scope of this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
Business Degree Qualification (Materials/Logistics specialisation preferred). IIPMM
qualification desirable.
C5 years industrial experience preferably in planning/purchasing role in a pharmaceutical/
bulk chemical FDA regulated environment.
High level of computer literacy required including materials databases, MRP systems etc.
Previous Experience of People Management
Ability to lead, motivate and influence others to achieve objectives in a team based
environment.
Mature judgement, problem solving and decision making ability.
Ability to identify, develop and deliver on process improvement opportunities.
Energetic, commited individual who is used to working to tight deadlines, and can work in
a flexible way when necessary |
