Procurement Specialist - Dublin

Purpose

Applications are invited for the temporary 1-year post of Procurement Specialist . The purpose of the post is to play an active part in the implementation of best practice procurement, ensuring compliance with Procurement regulations and the achievement of value for money for all non-pay expenditure.

Please note that a similar Procurement Post may be created and filled on a permanent basis in the future.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct competitive tenders
  • Pre-tender research, data analysis
  • Set up and liase with evaluation group
  • Prepare contract notices, tender documents
  • Post notices, tender documents on E-tenders web site
  • Manage queries from bidders
  • Conduct tender evaluation with appointed team
  • Prepare post-tender reports
  • Issue contract award notices
  • Conduct Supplier debriefings
  • Conduct Supplier negotiations
  • Manage Contracts and evaluate supplier performance
  • Provide advice to organisational staff on tendering procedures, contracts etc.
  • Training courses for purchasing staff
  • Organise and deliver training courses on best practice purchasing and organisational policies and procedures
  • Records management
  • Keep updated all files and relevant records pertaining to the procurement process on an ongoing basis
  • Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Candidates should be commercially aware and have experience of purchasing best practice

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • An appropriate qualification
  • I.T. Skills- Excellent keyboard skills and very good knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and e-mail.

Excellent organisational and analytical skills.

  • Self motivated, flexible, ability to use own initiative.

Accuracy and attention to detail is essential for this role.

Excellent report writing skills
