Responsible for setting up Supply Management direction, strategy and relationships to secure customer service excellence while maximizing plant efficiency.General Responsibilities
- Directs and leads the Supply Chain function to meet and exceed customer expectations and secure the availability of materials and equipment within specifications and within budget. Responsible for all Direct Material and MRO purchases. Inventory optimization is key to the performance of the supply management group.
- Facilitate the coordination, project management and timely introduction of New Products
- Secure delivery excellence to customers ensuring WNI meet the Customers requested ETA date.
- Initiate new supply chain concepts in attempt to increase Askeaton's competitiveness. Maximise the use of systems and drive and implement potential cost reduction/avoidance opportunities.
- Develop and implement Supply Management metrics to facilitate continuous improvement. e.g. metrics will include On-time delivery, customer satisfaction index, inventory turns, lead time reduction, supplier reduction, PPV, excess & obsolete inventory etc.
- Achieve department budgets, including freight, raw material, packaging and MRO budget commitments.
- Liaise with internal and external bodies to ensure the effective pursuance of company policies/ethics.
- Establish and implement supplier/commodity strategies and proactively support European & global commodity teams.
- Liaise with other Nutritional sites, Global & European Commodity Management to share cost and service data and where appropriate initiate joint supplier strategies. Accept divisional leadership on specific negotiations.
- Develop the supply management team & create a climate in which people want to do their best. Lead and motivate a team of Supply Management professionals to drive customer service, continuous cost, process and quality improvements across the supply chain.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education: 3rd level business qualification or IIPMM/APICS essential
Experience: 7years + planning/purchasing management experience in high volume environment essential.
Previous purchasing experience (>€100M spend) essential
