Abbott Ireland are currently recruiting a Sourcing & eSourcing Analyst reporting to the Manager of Purchasing Research. This role is based in MBO offices, Santry, Dublin.

Strategic sourcing recognizes that people, including innovative suppliers, are a valuable part of an organization, focusing on reducing waste and/or non-value-added costs. It is a key area of the procurement function with tactics and strategies that can consistently deliver benefits in terms of radically improved delivery efficiencies and reduced costs.

eSourcing is one such tactic employed by Strategic Sourcing. It involves clearly identifying business inputs and services, establishing the strategic context for key decisions, driving eSourcing strategies and focusing on the areas that will yield the greatest benefits.

We have an opportunity for a Sourcing & eSourcing Analyst within Corporate Purchasing. This job has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, performing detailed spend analyses (Europe & Pacific Asia), managing eSourcing project long range planning, performing category specific research and developing project reports for use in strategic sourcing projects.

Additionally, this position will manage various financial processes including determining project outputs (hard and soft savings, productivity improvements, and material price deviations), implementation impacts, providing division Controller updates, rebate / supplier check dispositoning, and LBE projections.

The position will be instrumental in driving eSourcing projects throughout all divisions, in Europe and Pacific Asia. The successful applicant will have responsibilities which include developing, executing, and managing eSourcing strategies and initiatives consistent with that of the Corporation's.

This covers all divisions and sites with the aim to improve Purchasing's overall value and thus the Corporation's.

The position provides eSourcing direction to multiple functional areas within the company, and indirectly manages sourcing teams and affiliate purchasing organizations on both the strategic and tactical execution of sourcing projects and initiatives.

The objective is to execute strategies to obtain the maximum value for the money spent throughout the Corporation measured through the delivery of cost savings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Influence, inspire and direct others towards the achievement of organizational objectives across divisions and functions
2. Lead and manage potentially change programmes:
evaluate the impact of project changes and adjust implementation activities to meet revised plan
3. The position will have the authority to update systems, assemble detailed spend analyses from various global locations, update senior-level financial personnel, issue reports (up to CFO), and modify long range project plans based on various analyses and research.
4. Conduct detailed spend analysis on key categories of spend globally and comprehensive market research on particular supply markets
5. Establish eSourcing project plans and communication strategies. Ensure plans are feasible within resource constraints and adjust as necessary. Integrate multiple project plans.
6. Develop and drive eSourcing process and procedure within Abbott Europe & Pacific Asia. Embed eSourcing process within Abbott culture.
7. Run eSourcing projects as required.
8. Provide corporate leadership by interfacing, presenting, recommending and updating strategies and initiatives to corporate and division senior management.
Develop, maintain and improve relationships and strategies with local and international management.
9. Perform contract reviews by Abbott site and prepare detailed reports outlining Abbott's commitments.
10. Update Abbott systems to reflect appropriate spends, strategies, and contractual obligations.
11. Be the resident expert on all electronic system applications such as P.I.N. & AbbottSource.

Education:

- Third level qualification in relevant discipline is preferred Please note:
- Position will be based in Dublin, Ireland and involve travel (mainly European and Asian, some US).
- Second language an advantage.
- eSourcing experience and project management experience an advantage
