Project Manager - Logistics (Cork)

Overview

This is a key role in a fast moving dynamic organization requiring adaptability and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be goal driven, able to multitask, articulate, and have excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities
  • Managing EMEIA Logistics Projects interfacing with EMEIA or global teams as required
  • Supporting Non-EMEIA Logistics projects interfacing with EMEIA or global teams as required
  • Maintaining Project Management Status in EMEIA Logistics database
  • Leading & motivating cross-functional teams to deliver projects without direct headcount responsibility
  • Project Initiation via Requirements Gathering & Scope definition,
  • Planning to enough detail to ensure smooth execution and implementation, Risk and Contingency planning, LOE etc.
  • Execution including delivery of milestones for example: Task tracking, User Acceptance Testing, Integration testing, Change Management, Training
  • Closure including project sign-off session, warranty support period, Project history document
Skills & Experience
Education
  • Leaving Cert Min.
  • Qualified in Professional Project Management or other industry recognized Project Management Qualification CAPM, PMP
  • General Business Degree, Six Sigma a distinct advantage
Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects successfully
  • Demonstrated experience of managing cross functional teams without direct responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing change or decision making at Senior Management level
  • Excellent working knowledge of Project Management principals
  • 4 years experience (min) in Project Mgt., Planning or Logistics Operations in FMCG environment at management level
  • Working knowledge of ISO/Malcolm Baldridge/Six Sigma Quality systems
Technical competencies:
  • Ability to understand complex concepts to identify milestones & tasks
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in order of importance to the business
  • Effective clear verbal and written communication to tailor the message to the audience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – works for “win-win” & best fit compromise
  • Excellent investigative skills and Methodical, Logical and Analytical in approach to problem solving
  • Ability to think laterally to find solutions to problems
  • Ability to identify and communicate cost elements within a project
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Appreciation of industry standard practices in Project Mgt.
  • Ability to identify and present opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to work on own initiative
