Reporting responsibility:
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, Europe.
Job Purpose
- To manage and develop supplier relationships
- To optimise the purchase cost of capital and operational expenditure
- To identify, target and deliver annual cost reduction for equipment and services
- To lead negotiations with a clear understanding of Business strategy and objectives for Europe.
Main Responsibilities:
- Price Negotiation
- Conducting negotiations with suppliers to achieve the most advantageous contracts without compromise on quality or service
- Annual preparation of Standard costs
- Identify and progress cost reduction opportunities
- Participate in Cost Reduction projects
- Carrying out regular cost audits and global cost analysis
- Cost Reduction for all business in the Region
- Monitor currency fluctuations relating to major purchases
- Negotiation of Contract Terms including:
Price / Terms
Minimum Order
Lead-time
Payment Terms
2. Sourcing
- Vendor Identification and Evaluation
- Development of sourcing strategies for assigned categories
- Implementation of Sourcing Strategy Team initiatives
- Vendor Management
- Vendor review on potential and existing suppliers
- Managing the vendor base
- Supplier Relationship Management. Build and develop good working relationships with suppliers
- Vendor Evaluation (Quality & Service)
- Vendor Development.
3. General
- Project management
- Participate in cross-functional teams for new service introductions, re-sourcing existing services, and problem resolution
- Close working with the business on service/quality requirements
- Keeping the business updated with market trends, opportunities and new ideas
- Working closely with key departmental decision-makers to maximise cost opportunities
- Continuous Improvement focus – Outlining strategic goals of the company with cost capabilities of supplier base
- Professional Business Ethics
- Initiate and implement process improvements to meet business objectives
- Reports to Head of Finance on performance, achievements and objectives
- Ensure Global Purchasing Guidelines from US Corporate Office and local regional procedures are fully complied with
- Continued maintenance of price info records.
Requirements
- 2-3 years relevant purchasing experience in a similar role
- Goal focused with strong planning and execution skills
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence decision making
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong problem solving capabilities
- Attention to detail
- Fluency in another European language desirable, ideally French
