Job Overview Reporting to the Planning Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the production scheduling activities of their business unit and generating production plans that support customer service, capacity and inventory management objectives. Through close interaction with the manufacturing cross-functional team, the Planner will ensure timely and accurate execution of production plans. Using effective relationships developed with Marketing, and through use of appropriate forecasting techniques, the Planner will provide future volume projections that will drive capacity and resource requirements planning.
Responsibilities include:
• Creation of Production Plans meeting Customer Service, Capacity and Inventory Management Objectives • Formulation of accurate and timely production forecasts for all finished goods, based on current inventory, sales and future demand as provided by Marketing. • Generation of 3 month rolling forecast on a monthly basis detailing projected build plans and corresponding absorptions • Close co-operation with relevant Buyer to ensure sufficient stocks of component are available to support production schedule. • Timely release of work orders to relevant manufacturing unit. • WIP Management ensuring work order progression through factory floor into FG Inventory • Maintenance of ERP (AS400) and Inventory Management System (I-Supply) • Periodic review of Inventory Min/Max Levels • Periodic reporting of Excess and Obsolescence to Finance to enable inventory reserves to be calculated • Support new product introduction to the manufacturing unit • Provide updates to functional and cross-functional managers through submission of periodic reports • Identify and initiate Continuous Improvement Projects Experience and Qualifications : • We require a person with previous planning experience within a manufacturing environment. • Degree or equivalent qualification in one of the following disciplines Engineering, Business, or Science, Supply Chain Management
