Bio-Medical Research Ltd, through its subsidiaries Slendertone and NeuroTech are world leaders in the design, manufacture and marketing of medical devices and consumer health and fitness products.

We are now looking to recruit a Buyer/Planner (Fixed-Term Contract – Maternity Cover)

Responsibilities:

This Role will primarily involve the purchasing of product to ensure consistent delivery of quality product in a cost effective manner. Duties will include:

• Management of supply requirement ensuring timely delivery of product.
• Planning and placement of Purchase Orders at agreed lead times in order that timely delivery of product is maintained.
• Monitoring of Supplier delivery reports to meet customer demand and expedite short lead-time demand.
• Management of forecast and planning demand to strategic Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers.
• Participation in management of freight inward spend by optimising ship mode.
• Maintenance of supplier price/standard cost of materials on MRP system, ensuring materials are received and clearing supplier invoice issues.
• Maintenance of IMS system records.
• Monthly reporting of key metrics of supplier on-time delivery performance, freight spend and intrastate report.
• Participation in Supplier performance review to critically review key supplier performance.
• Provide continuous feedback to key suppliers on their performance and drive continuous improvement programs.

Requirements:

Ideally the successful candidate will be:

• A self-starter with a good understanding of the supply chain process and commercial issues.
• Possess a relevant third level or equivalent qualification and approximately 3 years  experience in a Buyer/Planner role.
• Experience in an electronics/medical environment is desirable.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail skills.
• Proficiency in the use of MRP/MS office packages is also required.
