Role / Responsibility
A multinational biopharmaceutical company investing in a new facility in Cork Initially this position will be responsible for the development of policies, procedures, systems and processes for the Planning area to ensure the fluent supply of materials and products. In the short term the person in this position will focus on the implementation of the business planning systems and begin structuring and preparing the Planning department for commercial production within the Cork facility as well as developing strong relationships with other Logistics organizations. Once the initial structures are in place this position will be responsible for the development of strategic capacity plans, coordination of the demand management of products and the conversion of those demands into production schedules, to be executed within the company; the position will be responsible for the planning and vendor scheduling of materials and components, while ensuring inventories are maintained within goal.
Job Specification
- Develop and present strategic manufacturing capacity plans for commercial and clinical products.
- Coordinate the demand management of products through the global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of production schedules to ensure that customer requirements are meet, while facilitating efficient manufacturing operations.
- Maintain raw materials, packaging components and intermediate inventories within goal, while minimizing excess, obsolete and expired materials.
- Contribute to the global balancing of materials and supplies within the Global Biologics Supply Chain. - Vendor schedule materials to meet plant operational requirements, while ensuring efficient and effective purchasing practices.
- Develop and coordinate schedules for the testing and release of materials and products. - Preparation and execution of operating plans and spend budgets.
- Develop, maintain and publish information on supply chain management benchmark's and KPI's.
- Development and implementation of Business Planning and Control systems applications and processes.
- Development of an efficient and effective Logistics Planning organization that strives for supply chain excellence.
- Selection and development of personnel to ensure a high level of supply chain management performance.
- Customer focused ensuring that customer requirements are clearly communicated within the organization.
Person Specification
- The preferred candidate will have at least five years experience in a supervisory capacity in a supply chain management Planning environment.
- Experienced in global supply chain processes and ability to interact with senior levels within the organisation.
- Experienced in the implementation, development and execution of business planning and control systems.
- Experience in Planning in a pharmaceutical environment or in a process industry, offers a distinct advantage, as does qualification in supply chain management or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Necessary Key Competencies include :
- Leadership skills in the development and coaching of personnel.
- Ability of be able to collect, consolidate, analyze, summarize and report on large volumes of supply chain data.
- Technical knowledge of business planning and control systems.
