Role / Responsibilities
Initially this position will assist in the implementation of policies, procedures, systems and processes for the Logistics area to ensure the fluent supply of materials and products. In the short term the person in this position will focus on the development of materials plans and assist in the implementation of the business planning systems. Also, this position will assist the Purchasing area in the review and execution of purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Once the initial structures are in place this position will be responsible for the development, maintenance and execution of Materials plans, vendor schedules, materials release schedules and inventory positioning within CBIL and the Global Biologics Supply Chain. Also, this position will be
responsible for the maintenance of the Logistics master files and inventory reporting systems.
This position will be a cross functional role within the CBIL organization communicating information on materials plans and will have strong links internally with manufacturing and quality with a collaborative role with Leiden, Malvern, St Louis and Puerto Rico.
GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop, maintain and execute Materials plans for commercial and clinical
products.
- Maintain raw materials and component inventories within goal, while
minimizing excess, obsolete and expired materials.
- Contribute to the global
balancing of materials and supplies within the Global Biologics Supply
Chain.
- Create, maintain and schedule purchase orders for materials and components
to meet plant operational requirements, while ensuring efficient and
effective purchasing practices.
- Assist in the preparation of purchase plansand supplier evaluations for materials and component vendors.
- Co-ordinate the positioning of inventories within each of the production
areas.
- Develop and coordinate schedules for the testing and release of materials
and components.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of production schedules to
ensure that customer requirements are met.
- Ensure inventory and operational transactions are executed on time and
Logistics master files are maintained up to date.
- Develop, maintain and publish information on inventories, benchmark's and
KPI's.
- Implementation and maintenance of Business Planning and Control systems
applications and processes.
- Ensure compliance with SHE, GMP's, Logistics and Business Compliance
policies.

ORGANISATIONAL INTERFACES
. International subsidiaries: Leiden, Malvern, St Louis and Puerto Rico.
· Internal within CBIL: Manufacturing, Q.C. and Engineering at a minimum.
· Materials and component suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL
Minimum of three years experience in a supply chain management Planning
environment.
DESIRABLE
Qualification in supply chain management or equivalent combination of
experience and education.
Experienced in the implementation, development and execution of business
planning and control systems.
Experience in Planning in a pharmaceutical environment or in a process
industry.
Experience with dealing with vendors and the scheduling of materials.
