Vacancy Title: Production Planner

Remuneration: Negotiable

Due to ongoing expansion and increased product demand a vacancy has arisen for a Planner within a pharmaceuticals Production Department. A stand-alone role – reporting to the Production Manager – the Planner will assist in satisfying customer demand by developing and achieving production schedules based on demand, capacity and available resources.

Key activities and responsibilities will include

  • Demand management and scheduling
  • Production planning and capacity analysis
  • Identification and implementation of best practice models throughout the Production Department
  • Maintenance and improvement of (internal) customer service levels
  • Attaining a high level of delivery performance
  • Interpretation of customer demand and translation into weekly / monthly plans
  • Liaison with all relevant Departments, internal and external customers

 

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years planning experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics) with particular exposure to order scheduling, planning, demand management and production control.

(Applicants may be considered with suitable experience of batch production in other sectors).

Educated to degree level, an APICS / IPICS qualification is strongly desirable. Exposure to MRP systems is essential.

Candidates must be flexible in approach, be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, and possess strong analytical and organisational abilities.

Well developed interpersonal and communication skills are required – this person will operate across all levels and departments.

Excellent teamworking abilities are a prerequisite.
