International
Federation of Purchasing and Materials Management NIGP is the union of 42 National Purchasing Associations worldwide. Within this circle, about 200,000 Purchasing Professionals can be reached. IFPMM is a non-political, independent and non-profit oriented International Organisation, registered in Aarau, Switzerland. IFPMM facilitates the development and distribution of knowledge to elevate and advance the procurement profession, thus favourably impacting the standard of living of citizens worldwide through improved business practices. The term procurement is taken to embrace purchasing, materials management, logistics, supply chain management and strategic sourcing. IFPMM Organisational Structure
IFPMM Strategic Plan #1 Strategic Intent Develop a collaborative learning network to help IFPMM member associations get better at what they do and what they could and should do. Share information and best practices and common needs and goals and engage in knowledge exchange. #1 Goal: Conduct a learning network evaluation/analysis on the three topics identified at the May 2001 Council Meeting:
#2 Goal: Establish and publish IFPMM Standards for the following topics
#3 Goal: Develop mutual recognition of the Competency and Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply. #2 Strategic Intent Encourage/facilitate member associations to work together to set up IFPMM relationships
with other multi-national bodies. Establish specific objectives for establishing the
relationship and monitor ongoing benefits. Use the following criteria to select other
multi-national bodies to be contacted: #1 Goal: The initial list of multi-national bodies to be contacted is:
#2 Goal: Refine the Core Presentation to provide member associations with a common communication tool that defines IFPMM. #3 Strategic Intent Develop a network of member associations operating within IFPMM that is as extensive and effective as possible. #1 Goal: Promote active participation from current member associations; encourage existing national associations to join IFPMM. #2 Goal: Develop new IFPMM member associations to represent countries or areas where no association exist and support them within the IFPMM network. #3 Goal: Provide assistance in the establishment of the Purchasing Managers Index in new countries as requested. #4 Goal: Continue to support the World Congress, and the Summer & Winter Schools to promote the profession
