IFPMM Strategic Plan

#1 Strategic Intent

Develop a collaborative learning network to help IFPMM member associations get better at what they do and what they could and should do. Share information and best practices and common needs and goals and engage in knowledge exchange.

#1 Goal: Conduct a learning network evaluation/analysis on the three topics identified at the May 2001 Council Meeting:

  Membership recruitment and retention
  Use of technology for members
  Educational programs

#2 Goal: Establish and publish IFPMM Standards for the following topics

  Ethics
  Purchasing Managers Index
  Education

#3 Goal: Develop mutual recognition of the Competency and Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply.

#2 Strategic Intent

Encourage/facilitate member associations to work together to set up IFPMM relationships with other multi-national bodies. Establish specific objectives for establishing the relationship and monitor ongoing benefits. Use the following criteria to select other multi-national bodies to be contacted:

  Define benefits to both parties
Define the type of relationship desired i.e. customer, supplier, allies etc.

Ensure sufficient resources and member associations see and agree on the benefits

#1 Goal: The initial list of multi-national bodies to be contacted is:

  The World Bank
  International Trade Centre
  The World Trade Organisation
  International Chamber of Commerce
  European Union
International Purchasing & Supply Education & Research Association (IPSERA)

#2 Goal: Refine the Core Presentation to provide member associations with a common communication tool that defines IFPMM.

#3 Strategic Intent

Develop a network of member associations operating within IFPMM that is as extensive and effective as possible.

#1 Goal: Promote active participation from current member associations; encourage existing national associations to join IFPMM.

#2 Goal: Develop new IFPMM member associations to represent countries or areas where no association exist and support them within the IFPMM network.

#3 Goal: Provide assistance in the establishment of the Purchasing Managers Index in new countries as requested.

#4 Goal: Continue to support the World Congress, and the Summer & Winter Schools to promote the profession.
