The area: Manufacturing and Supply Chain
Google requires a world class supply chain to deliver the computer and networking equipment for its ever-expanding global data centres. Our team is made up of engineers and supply chain professionals who design, build and manage that supply chain. The focus is not just on cost and delivery but how to best manufacture Google's confidential and proprietary internal computer hardware.
The role: Buyer
You will be passionate about Purchasing and will drive the partnership-building between Google and its vendors. As a Buyer, you will join our Purchasing team and support the continued growth of our Company, as well as look for great prices and help maintain excellent vendor relations.
Responsibilities:
- High volume order placement for various types of commodities, maintain budget records and provide high level of Customer Service for internal customers.
- Source, evaluate and recommend potential suppliers, support cost reduction programs.
- Develop partnerships with other groups to foster cross-functional teamwork and achieve desired targets while demonstrating the strength to support departmental viewpoints and policy.
- Able to understand and execute order processing from Oracle MRP output.
- Follow up on open purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and communicate with internal customers, resolve receiving and accounts payable discrepancies.
Requirements:
- BA or BS or equivalent and a top academic performer.
- Extensive Supply Chain Procurement experience; experience with MRP.
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver that is able to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment, excellent communication skills and team player.
- Demonstrated ability to operate software applications including ERP experience (Oracle 11i experience preferred), Google Docs, MS Word, Excel, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to set priorities, plan work and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
