Course Overview

A two day APS training seminar to assist improve the reliability and efficiency of supply deliveries.  This seminar is ideal for personnel who as part of their job are responsible for the scheduling and co-ordination of materials deliveries from suppliers both internally as well as externally.

1. Expediting Principles and Techniques
     Establishing the right relationship: Preventative not problematic, What

     makes a good supplier
     Understanding Pricing and Costs: Relevance to successful negotiation
    Supplier Alliances and Partnerships: Breaking down adversarial

     relationships , Benefits and pitfalls
     Importance of communication: One to one communication , Open

     Communication , Say what you mean.
     Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Problem definition , Identify

     possible/apparent causes , Understand steps involved
     Conflict Management: Identify critical issues quickly , Defuse conflict ,

     Turn challenges into positive situations
     Introduction to Negotiation: Benchmarks to measure success , Four

     phases of negotiation , Attributes of a good negotiator
    Role of the Expeditor:  Key measures , Relationship with other

     departments , Satisfying internal and external customers

2.Skills Development
     Assertivness V Non - Assertive Behaviour: Your right to be assertive ,

     Distinguish between assertive , aggressive and submissive behaviours ,
     Review personal assertiveness in a variety of situations
     Constructive Questioning:
Analysis of current usage of questioning in
     the work situation, Establish ways of achieving results through the use
      of constructive questioning , Develop constructive questioning skills
     Listening Skills: Key
attributes of a good listener , Common mistakes

3. Workplace Application
     Apply new knowledge and new skills to real workplace issues through

     role play exercises, study of video material and realistic case studies
     and samples

Cancellations:
Where a booking has been made and acknowledged by APS registrants agree to the following conditions.

Cancellation between two and four weeks prior to event 50% of agreed fee is payable to APS.
Cancellations two weeks or less prior to events 100% of agreed fee is payable to APS

Substitutions
Alternate seminar attendees can be chosen but APS must be notified by email of fax.

Transfer of Seminar Booking
Members can transfer a seminar attendee to another seminar provided confirmation is received by email of fax.

Programme

APS reserves the right to modify the programme.

Payment
Fees are payable prior to the commencement of training seminars.

In the event that an event does not take place at the planned time and place the APS reserves the right to make changes to the venue and date as to when it will be held.
